Built in 1736 this pro-colonial waterfront estate is an outstanding wedding venue offering couples indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception sites, each striking and unique. Nestled on over 12 acres of tall grasses, lush trees, freshwater ponds, and perfectly manicured lawns, Eagle Manor sits in the middle of the Dix Wildlife Management Area. Rich in American history of the estate being the home of colonial farmers, bootleggers, Philadelphia aristocrats hosting extravagant parties and smuggles, this New Jersey location truly has something for everyone.
The colonial face of The Manor House harks back to a time in American history where kings gathered on the lawn. Inside is just as grand featuring eight marble bathrooms and ten stunning rooms each with a fireplace. The Manor House can pull double duty as a wedding venue and a place for your wedding party to stay during the festivities helping you have a seamless and stress-free day by having everyone, and all their things, in one place. The happy couple can choose to stay on at The Manor House beginning their honeymoon in this quiet, romantic spot.
At the water’s edge is the River Deck. Offering over 2300 square feet of panoramic views of the Cohansey River, this multi-tiered space is large enough to host a large ceremony or reception. Couples have the option of adding pavilions on the lawn next to the deck, giving guests a place to gather together in the shade while still enjoying the stunning vistas that surround them. Standing on the deck to say “I do” under the long stretch of blue skies and the wood arbor creating stunning ceremony imagery, while the beauty of the natural setting fills the frame. In the evening, the mood feels mystic and a little bit magical underneath a star-filled sky accented by the deck lighting. Catering can be hosted and served from the two-story boathouse, which guests always enjoy.
Inside the retired dairy barn are 150 years of rustic charm and old-world warmth. Boasting over 5600 square feet, The Rustic Barn is an excellent place to host your shabby-chic ceremony or reception. Edison light lines the wood beams above giving the barn a warm, modern feel with a vintage throwback vibe. It’s a great location for hosting a ceremony during seasons where the weather might be a concern providing couples and their guests the ability to enjoy the stunning natural surroundings without being caught out in the rain. Suffice to say, we cannot spend the day at The Manor House without visiting the reflecting pond beneath the Rustic Pond to create stunning wedding portraits or the historic corn crib. Each unique to this venue, and both are amazing photographic backdrops.
The freshwater ponds invite various ornamental birds and peacocks who live at Manor House, adding an authentic element to the tall grasses and spectacular sunsets. There are endless spaces within the estate to stop and create amazing wedding images. For couples who wish to have a classic and more formal feel to their day, we can pose them against the Manor House. The Rustic Barn with the lights and the cement floors feels slightly industrial set in this natural setting, which means there truly is something for every couples wedding vision. The ability for couples to have an all-inclusive day where their formal and candid wedding photography can also take place helps eliminate stress from what is sure to be a wedding to remember at Eagle Manor.
