Located just over an hour north of Philadelphia in the rolling hillside of Gwynedd in Montgomery county, The William Penn Inn is a historic hotel and landmark that is known for excellence. Founded in 1714, it’s just amazing that for over three hundred years this hotel has been hosting dinner parties, weddings, and events. Its historic charm lacks nothing, this venue is truly a place where wedding couples can have an amazing event.
From the getting ready to the ceremony to the lush reception you never have to leave the grounds to have a beautiful wedding day. Their expert staff has over three decades of experience, ensuring that your wedding desires will be carried out flawlessly. In addition to award-winning cuisine, the William Penn Inn also boasts an on-site caterer, baker, and florist so you can check many things off your to-do list with a visit to this highly regarded venue.
The grounds are nothing short of spectacular in every season. Meticulously maintained, and available for outdoor weddings, a Penn Garden Ceremony is the perfect outdoor setting. Flowering trees in the spring, evergreen trees all year long and mature deciduous trees that burst with color in the fall; no matter when you get married you’ll have a beautiful palette behind you in your wedding photos. The outdoor ceremony space can accommodate up to 250 guests.
In just steps from the ceremony site is so many options for outdoor photos with the wedding couple or wedding party. Giant oak trees, old stone bridges, and the charming front porch are just a few places. Evening photos with sparkling trees make for beautiful night portraits, which are some of my favorite images to create for my clients. The hotel itself is also full of museum-quality furnishings which are fantastic for bridal portraits.
There are several ballrooms to take advantage of depending on your guest list. The main ballroom is the Carriage Ballroom, which accommodates 250 guests and has a beautiful expansive white palette with crystal chandeliers. The Surrey Ballroom is a bit cozier, for weddings up to 120 and has teardrop chandeliers as well as recessed lighting and many options for table set up from rounds to a more farm-table style.
There are also several options for small and intimate weddings as well as rooms that work well for rehearsal dinners. Your guests can opt to stay on-site for a weekend of pampering and the gracious hospitality the Inn is known for. If you are looking for a wedding venue that is a one-stop-shop in a beautiful, bucolic setting the William Penn Inn may be your perfect choice.
